"you should sit in meditation for 20 minutes a day, unless you're too busy; then you should sit for an hour"
Well, this is very true but if you're like many people it sounds like a load of rubbish!
I can hear your thoughts as you read this...."If I don't have time for 20 minutes how in the world can I find time for an hour?"
"That is stupid, I can't do that."
The point with this is...Make the time for 20 minutes daily or life will catch up with you and you will regret not giving yourself the 20 minutes a day. Think... stress, headaches, re occurring illness, disease. Yuck, who wants those? I'll meditate for 20 minutes daily instead of illness.
Alright, here we go with the tips to getting this done.
Schedule the time. YES, put it in your daily planner.
As you set your alarm clock in the morning set it for 20 minutes earlier. Get up, wrap a comfy blanky around you, go sit down in your favorite room to meditate and meditate for 20 minutes.
If mornings are not for you then after you tuck your kids in bed go sit and meditate for 20 minutes.
Don't even know where to start?
Find a location in your house; a room, a corner of a room, your favorite chair (although the floor is the best) find a pillow that is comfortable. Sit down and allow your shoulders to relax then close your eyes and take a deep breath. Allow all thoughts to leave your consciousness and continue taking relaxing, soothing breaths. Ignore you clock, you'll know when to open your eyes again. Simple!
